Description
AirFit F10 Full Face Mask– ResMed
The AirFit F10 is a compact full-face mask for CPAP or BiPAP. The AirFit F10 uses a triangular-shaped cushion typical of full-face masks. The cushion rests at the bridge of the nose and below the lower lip. A unique headgear and frame design set the AirFit F10 full-face mask apart from traditional full-face masks by allowing the full-face cushion to seal effectively without a forehead support, delivering comfort and fewer facial marks while keeping the line of sight unobstructed. You can keep your glasses on and read or watch TV while your CPAP therapy ramps up. A quick-release elbow and diffused ports for exhaled airflow add convenience and quiet to the AirFit F10.
Features
- Lightweight full-face mask
- Spring Air cushion
- Soft and slim headgear
Full face benefits in a compact size
The AirFit F10 features an enhanced frame design with hinge-shaped side straps that securely support the full face cushion without a forehead support. The flexible hinges on the sides of the frame flex side to side to resist upward movement toward the eyes. The frame rests a bit lower on the face than most full-face mask frames and works in tandem with the SoftEdge headgear to deliver superior stability. The headgear features slimmed-down straps that further enhance the compact feel of the AirFit F10.
Light and sturdy dual-wall cushion
The AirFit F10 carries over the soft silicone cushion from ResMed’s Quattro Air mask. The light and sturdy dual-wall SpringAir cushion is made of soft silicone that gently inflates against the face. The SpringAir cushion is contoured to be extra smooth around the bridge of the nose while dense, sturdy side supports on the cushion ensure an effective seal. The cushion is intended to rest firmly but lightly against the face to provide adequate pressure delivery without discomfort or facial marks.
Comfort, convenience, and quiet are intentionally included
The AirFit F10 packs in numerous quality-of-life features to give the sleep apnea user a better night’s rest. The SoftEdge headgear rests above the neck for a more comfortable experience. Lightweight fabric soft sleeves are included to cover the silicone arms on the frame if desired. Diffuser ports gently direct exhaled air quietly away from the user and the bed partner. A quick-release connection at the cushion allows the user to disconnect easily for brief interruptions in therapy without removing the entire mask. The AirFit F10 mask only has four parts, so learning to put it together and take it apart for cleaning is no problem at all. The headgear also does not need to be pulled apart for cleaning, so it’s ready to just slip on night after night.
Sizing and Fitting
The AirFit F10 is available in three sizes of cushions: small, medium, and large. The headgear and frame are one size fits all. The cushion should sit at the bridge of the nose and extend to the crease of the chin.
Fitting
- Remove the lower straps from the frame and remove the quick-connect elbow from the cushion.
- Hold the cushion to the face, aligning the bottom of the cushion with the crease of the chin, and roll it up over the nose.
- Pull the headgear over the head with the other hand.
- Adjust the top straps, tightening them only enough to get a secure, loose fit.
- Loop the lower straps to the frame.
- Adjust the bottom straps for a firm but comfortable fit.
- Press the side buttons on the elbow and connect to the mask.
- Turn on the machine, lay down in bed, and make final adjustments.
Adjusting for leaks
Do not overtighten headgear. Overtightening can reduce the spring action of the cushion and aggravate leaks.
- Reseat the facial cushion. Lift the cushion gently off your face, then lower it back into position.
- Clean the cushion. Dirt, oil, and makeup can make the cushion slippery.
- Consider changing the sizes of the cushion if you need to tighten the headgear excessively.
Pro Tip: Avoid cushion creases by aligning the cushion with the chin crease, then rolling it over the nose. Hold the cushion steady while positioning the headgear. If the cushion slides down during fitting, it may crimp in places, creating gaps that cause leaks. To resolve creases, remove the mask entirely and start the fitting process over.
Adjusting for noise
- Check for leaks.
- Check the diffusion ports for debris or dirt. Clean them with a soft bristle brush.
- Check for proper elbow insertion.
